I'm considering the Tab 4 8 as a replacement for my aging Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013). I paid about the same for my N7 2013 as the T48 costs, but I think I would miss the FHD screen. I know I could get that with the Plus model, but that's more than I want to spend for a secondary throw around device. I know Lenovo will never update these to Oreo, seeing as I have a Lenovo Tab 2 A8 that they left on KitKat. I do like that these new tabs have Snapdragon chips, whereas my Tab 2 had a MediaTek, which performed ok, but had zero support. With flash storage being cheaper these days, I am rather disappointed with the 16 gigs (probably 13-14 actual), but that's what you get at a little over a $100 I guess.
My N7 '13 is still trucking along, minus a display multi touch issue where it freaks out, but I might wait closer to Black Friday when these Lenovo tabs hopefully see a nice discount. The market for a good yet cheap Android slate has almost dried up. And I honestly wouldn't buy an ipad if they were $50.
